Rick Santorum bombed

Well, actually google bombed and this self righteous Christian fundamentalist guy definitely deserves it in my opinion. Do a google for "Santorum". If you are expecting the senator's official site to show up on the top of the list, you are in for a BIG BIG surprise...

Some of Santorum's past blunders include making homophobic statements, trying to insert creationism into science classes, comparing Democrats fighting for filibuster to Nazis, relating moral relativism to Catholic Church sex scandals and a host of other ones. You can read about these in more details at Wiki.

Punters bet Rs 150 cr on Prince

Check out Times of India to read about betting which took place in India over the survival chances of Prince, the four-year old who was trapped in a bore well for well over 48 hours. Personally, I dont have any problems with this or any other forms of gambling, betting over incidents etc. But what struck me in this article was the subtle racial tone against Gujrati's. It starts off as

" The Gujarati speculator's fondness for a quick flutter is legendary. But this was a truly a case of plunging to macabre depths. "

Almost reads as though Gujratis are usually fond of "immoral" gains. Immoral being a subjective unquantifiable term, the statement is technically unsubstantiable. The authors then conveniently use this incident to prove beyond any doubt that Gujratis can indeed "fall" to any depths to make easy money...

Maybe I am reading too much into the article :) Or maybe such gujju/sardar/bihari jokes are okay to tell your friends over a weekend beer party, but not in the media.

The cantaloupe sized testicles of Steve Colbert

Some of you might have already seen Colbert literally roasting Bush alive during the White House Correspondents Dinner. Personally, I liked his performance. Its was very much Bush deserving. Do check out this clip at "google current" about google searches related to the event...

Jesus Aarela Re

Followed by 1000 years of peace on earth. So says many of the faithfuls around the world looking at the current events in Middle East. They point to Revelation Chapter 9 and interpret the current events as prophesies in that chapter unfolding before their eyes. The Armageddon they see is the world forces turning to Southern Lebanon, leading to unforseen catastrophe.

Just as a quick reminder. As the first world war was happening, folks with similar mindset were predicting Jesus on earth at any moment. That did not happen. So His trip probably got postponed until the second world war. That too did not happen. And there were many other wars till now, but no one saw the Dude down on earth.

Maybe these are God's ways which no one can predict. I for one cannot wait to see Him and am all prepared, armed with just one question. Was He really serious when he said "turn the other cheek" :)

Are you ready to face Him ? If you are not, check out today's CNN. It has a video titled "Some faithful preparing for end of the world".
